West Ham have begun holding certain training sessions at the club’s new Olympic Stadium in a bid to improve their performances at home and make the players feel more comfortable in their surroundings, as reported by the Telegraph.

The Hammers made a horrendous start to their Premier League campaign, but back-to-back victories have restored some pride and confidence into Slaven Bilic’s ailing troops.

The East London outfit host Chelsea tomorrow in the fourth round of the EFL Cup, in what is expected to be the biggest test so far of the Hammers’ new stadium’s security measures.

The Telegraph carry quotes from Bilic, who described the reasoning behind the club holding certain sessions at their new ground:

“We found out that we can do it without having to ask anyone. We do it for the players to get used to that specific pitch, to the size, to certain areas where they play. You score some good goals from a specific spot in training and when you are in a match, you think, ‘I scored yesterday from here’.”

Bilic’s men face an incredibly hard set of fixtures ahead of them over the next month or so with trips to Everton, Tottenham, Manchester United and Liverpool all coming in their next seven games.

How well they do this season will depend heavily on their points return between now and the turn of the year, and Hammers fans will be hoping that the change to their training routine will improve their performances and in turn, lead to their rise up the Premier League table.
