West Ham United manager David Moyes was reportedly in the stands at Craven Cottage to watch a whole host of Fulham stars, as the Cottagers eased past Championship giants Leeds United.
Goals from Kevin McDonald and Aleksander Mitrovic gave the west London outfit three points, with the latter reportedly one of the players Moyes may have been watching. Tom Cairney and Ryan Fredericks are also on his shortlist.
However, The Sun have reported that 25-year-old Fulham goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli is also a player of interest after he kept his ninth clean sheet in just 21 appearances this season. But did the Scottish boss watch the wrong goalkeeper?
It has been a disappointing campaign for Leeds, as they look set to miss out on the Championship play-offs once again. But a rare shining light of Paul Heckingbottom’s era in charge has been the emergence of goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
The 21-year-old has come into the Leeds side following the poor form of Felix Wiedwald, and though he is yet to earn a clean sheet, Peacock-Farrell has been arguably his side’s best performer in his five outings this term.
The Northern Ireland Under-21 international was immaculate on his debut against Wolves – he could do nothing about the three he conceded but the scoreline could have been so much more embarrassing.
At such a young age, and with Leeds’ renowned youth system churning out talent year upon year, Peacock-Farrell’s potential surely promises a Premier League career in the offing.
Moyes should consider a move for Peacock-Farrell instead of Bettinelli, as the 6ft 4in stopper proves value for money and more potential to grow into a better goalkeeper than that of his Fulham counterpart.
