Manchester United reportedly want Declan Rice of West Ham United.

West Ham United manager Manuel Pellegrini has suggested to The Sun that he does not know if Declan Rice will be at the club next season amid speculation that Manchester United want him.

According to The Sun, United are interested in signing Rice from Premier League rivals West Ham in the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, has established himself as an important player for the Hammers and has played regularly for the London club this season.

According to WhoScored, the England international scored two goals in 34 Premier League matches for the Hammers this campaign.

Pellegrini told The Sun regarding the future of Rice: “It’s impossible, I cannot know the future. He is, of course, a player who has had a brilliant season, who is 20 years old and an English player who has a lot of qualities.

“Maybe some of the big teams, or all of them, will want him. But that is one thing – the other is whether he will stay here or he goes, and I cannot say at this moment.”

Big blow for West Ham United

Rice is one of the best young players in England, and it is not a surprise that United reportedly want the England international.

While it will be a step-up for the 20-year-old to move from the Hammers to the Red Devils, it will be a massive blow for the London outfit to lose such a talented player with a lot of potential.
