West Ham have failed miserably in the transfer market since the much heralded move to the London Stadium two years ago but could get more joy out of shopping north of the border at Rangers.

Supporters are unhappy and co-owner David Sullivan recently pledged to rip up the Hammers‘ recruitment process in a bid to turn things around.

The Hammers have been keeping tabs on a number of Celtic stars including Moussa Dembele.

But they would perhaps be better advised to look instead to Rangers’ Colombian star Alfredo Morelos after a reported move to China failed to materialise.

Far East outfit Beijing Renhe were watching Morelos ahead of an expected last minute bid before their Super League window slammed shut earlier this week.

That failed to come to fruition but Gers boss Graeme Murty had hinted a big bid would be difficult to turn down for both club and player, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers arrives at the stadium prior to the Scottish Premier League match between Celtic and Ranger at Celtic Park on December 30, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The 21-year-old South American striker has 17 goals in his debut season in Scottish football but has gone somewhat under the radar south of the border.

West Ham should look to test Rangers’ resolve to keep their star in the summer with Moyes unable to rely on injury-prone Andy Carroll going into a new season and Jordan Hugill unproven.
