The West Ham United manager has had to cope with a plethora of injuries this season.
Hammers boss David Moyes addressed the media in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with the Cherries at the London Stadium yesterday, and admitted that he is very worried about Manuel Lanzini’s potential hamstring injury, after the Argentine had to leave the field of play yesterday, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London.
The 24-year-old has been vitally important for West Ham in recent weeks, striking up a superb understanding with Marko Arnautovic, and helping his side climb up the Premier League table in the process.
Lanzini joined the Hammers on a permanent basis in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £9.4 million, having spent the previous season on loan in east London, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the club’s most important players.
The Argentine was taken off after just 64 minutes against Bournemouth yesterday, though, and he could be set for a prolonged period on the sidelines.
Moyes addressed the media after the game, and admitted that he is extremely worried about the potential of losing Lanzini through injury, as quoted by popular football news website Football.London:
“Lanzini is a worry. Because I’m worried that, it looks like a hamstring – we’ll get it scanned tomorrow. I think the Lanzini thing has come more from fatigue from we’ve asked him in midweek to work and then again today so that might be where it’s broken down.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup, before they play host to Crystal Palace in the Premier League, and it looks like they will have to do without Lanzini for both of those games at the very least.
