Marko Arnautovic has seemingly returned to West Ham training ahead of schedule.

West Ham United could be about to receive a huge boost as Marko Arnautovic has returned to training ahead of schedule, after being caught in a video on Patrice Evra’s Twitter account.

The veteran defender put pen to paper on a six-month deal with the Hammers on Wednesday afternoon and posted a video of his first training session for David Moyes’ side. At 24 seconds, Arnautovic appears during a warm-up.

The London Evening Standard claimed last month that the Austria international would miss four West Ham matches against Wigan, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Watford. But he could now return ahead of the clash against the latter.

Former Manchester United defender Evra posted the video on Twitter after joining the club, which has now sparked suggestions that 28-year-old Arnautovic could feature at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The former Inter Milan and Werder Bremen star’s return will be greatly appreciated by manager Moyes, who is lacking in options in the final third with Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll also sidelined.

Arnautovic’s start to life with the Hammers was a difficult one following his summer move from Stoke City, but he has since been in exceptional form. In his last eight Premier League games, he has scored eight goals and laid on nine assists.

It remains to be seen if he will be fit enough for Saturday’s home game against Watford.
