Manuel Lanzini has posted on his personal Instagram story that he is “waiting for Saturday” in what is a huge boost to West Ham United ahead of their clash against Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury for exactly a month now, after being withdrawn in the 64th minute of a 1-1 draw against AFC Bournemouth at the London Stadium.
The Argentina international is unbeaten in his last eight Premier League outings, missing the 3-2 loss to Newcastle before Christmas and remaining on the sidelines due to the muscle injury when the Hammers were haplessly beaten by Brighton.
Lanzini posted on Instagram with the three-word verdict, stating he is set to return to the Hammers side on Saturday as David Moyes looks for his side to push even further away from the relegation zone.
The former River Plate star has been in excellent form for the Hammers this season, scoring three goals but proving much more adequate when it comes to creating goals.
West Ham will be looking to build on their most recent outing – a 2-0 win over Watford – with a surprise win at Anfield that would boost the Hammers’ hopes of avoiding relegation, while also denting Liverpool’s chances of top-four qualification.
Three points could see the east Londoners climb from 12th place into tenth, if Watford and Bournemouth both drop points.
