West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur are both allegedly keen on signing the Bournemouth hitman.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini will be desperate to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this month, especially if Marko Arnautovic leaves for China.
One of the Hammers’ reported targets is Bournemouth hitman Callum Wilson, but unfortunately for Pellegrini, Tottenham are also in the race to sign the 26-year-old, according to the Mirror.
Wilson would be a sensational signing for West Ham, and if they can find a way of beating Spurs to his signature, it would be even more special for the east London outfit.
The Coventry-born hitman has been in excellent form for the Cherries this term, chalking up nine goals in 20 Premier League appearances thus far.
Wilson’s movement and tireless running would surely take West Ham’s attacking play to another level entirely, and with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Robert Snodgass on the wings, and Samir Nasri in the hole, he would surely receive excellent service.
He wont come cheap, however.
Bleacher report claims that Bournemouth will demand close to £70 million for the striker, so unless they lower their demands, the simple fact of the matter is that he will not be going anywhere.
If some kind of compromise can be reached, however, and West Ham manage to bring Wilson to the London Stadium, beating Tottenham to his signature in the process, it could prove to be a real turning point in the club’s continued evolution.
