West Ham want Armando Broja but would only chase a loan deal late in the window if Gianluca Scamacca does arrive.
The Hammers have been focusing their attentions on signing a new striker of late.
Michail Antonio has been a quality striker for West Ham but hw is now 32 and another goalscoring option is needed.
West Ham have agreed a deal with Sassuolo for the signing of striker Gianluca Scamacca, though getting that over the line won’t be easy.
David Moyes will have other targets in mind though and Chelsea talent Broja continues to be linked.
West Ham want Armando Broja
It looked like West Ham were closing in on a deal to sign Broja last week.
Fabrizio Romano reported that West Ham were nearing the signing of Broja after agreeing personal terms with the Chelsea striker.
However, the deal doesn’t appear to have moved forward since then and West Ham have turned to Scamacca.
The Daily Mail report that talks are continuing over a deal for Scamacca after agreeing a £30.5million fee with Sassuolo.
The report adds that West Ham will only move for Broja now if he is available on loan later in the window.
It seems that West Ham are ditching their interest in Broja in order to focus on signing Scamacca instead.

Chelsea allegedly don’t want to offload Broja whilst he is nursing an ankle injury, leaving West Ham to go elsewhere.
Broja showed real potential on loan at Southampton last season, even if his goal record was just six in 32 Premier League outings.
The Albanian hitman, 20, looks to be a major prospect for the future and you can understand why West Ham wanted him.
Yet with the new season drawing ever closer, West Ham need a quick decision on their striker targets.
If Scamacca does come on board, it’s very hard to see West Ham going and signing another striker even if Broja does become available.
Antonio, Scamacca and Broja would be battling for one spot and whilst West Ham do have plenty of football to play, keeping all three happy would be almost impossible.
