West Ham United and West Bromwich Albion simply cannot allow Everton’s Ademola Lookman to head elsewhere if he is available.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, Ademola Lookman is attracting attention from the likes of Tottenham, Crystal Palace and Huddersfield after his difficult recent spell at Everton.
Lookman was signed for £11 million during the previous January window, but has found opportunities difficult to come by this season at Goodison Park, and the Mirror suggests that that may have encouraged a cluster of Premier League sides to keep a keen eye on the forward.
But if Lookman is actually available, then the likes of West Ham and West Brom would surely be mad to not join their top flight rivals in the race to sign the former Charlton Athletic man.
When Lookman has been given a chance, he has looked exciting and has the pace to cause opposition defenders a whole host of problems. And of course, he marked his Premier League debut with a goal against Manchester City in January.
He boasts too much potential to not be playing at all in the top flight, and thus, the Hammers and the Baggies should surely consider joining the already-interested sides in the running.
Neither side has been prolific this term. West Ham have scored seven in seven games, while Tony Pulis’ men have only bagged six so adding additional depth to their attacking ranks in January is surely a must.
And Lookman’s ability to play up front or in a wider role means that he would be able to fit into virtually any system – apart from Everton’s in Ronald Koeman’s eyes, it seems.
It may prove an expensive deal to try and pull it off, but it could certainly be argued that if West Ham or West Brom joined the race and managed to land Lookman – if he became available – then that would surely be a sensational signing and a real statement considering how many sides are already keen.
