Queens Park Rangers and West Ham may fight it out for the chance to sign Lazio right-back Abdoulay Konko.
French defender Abdoulay Konko wants to leave Lazio and reports in Italy suggest that QPR and West Ham are likely destinations.
The 30-year-old can also play on the wing and has extensive top-flight experience in Italy, having played around 150 Serie A games, as well as spending three years at Sevilla.
Recently, Konko has been a victim of Lazio’s large squad and has slipped down the pecking order at the Stadio Olimpico, fighting a losing battle with Luis Pedro Cavanda, leading many to suspect he will shortly be moving on.
The Italian newspaper believes that QPR and West Ham are favourites but West Bromwich Albion are also interested with a move to England almost certain.
The problem may lie in Konko’s wage demands, which Il Messaggero believes are around £1.3 million and won’t be reduced to ease a transfer.
