West Ham and Everton signings slammed as among the five worst in Europe

Everton and West Ham additions have a major point to prove, along with Manchester United star.

Both Everton and West Ham ended the summer feeling pretty happy with their summer transfer business, even though there were still holes in their squads to fill.

But the season has not gone well for either team, who occupy two of the bottom six places in the Premier League table.

Summer transfer business has come under scrutiny and both have fired their managers.

Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad has slammed two of their additions, picking deals done by Everton and West Ham as two of the worse deals in Europe.

Behind AC Milan’s signing of Leonardo Bonucci, Everton’s attacker Gylfi Sigurdsson is rated as the second biggest flop of the season so far.

Sigurdsson moved for £45 million from Swansea City, and has no goals and no assists in 10 Premier League appearances.

When it comes to his return for the money paid, it is hard to argue with his inclusion on the list.

Also featuring among the five worst deals is Manchester United’s Victor Lindelof, with the former Benfica defender failing to crack the first team after his £30 million move.

When he has played, Lindelof has been disappointing, and was awful in the surprise loss to Huddersfield Town.

AC Milan forward Andre Silva also features, along with West Ham’s loan signing of Joe Hart.

The Hammers goalkeeper has not looked at the level of an England international even though he has retained his place, although his form has picked up in recent weeks even if the team’s results have not.

Now under the management of David Moyes, Hart has a chance to turn his fortunes around, while Everton ace Sigurdsson is waiting to see who will get the chance to improve his flagging tenure at Goodison Park.
