West Ham United and Crystal Palace could benefit from swapping the two players.
The future of Robert Snodgrass at the London Stadium is uncertain to say the least, following a succession of underwhelming performances since joining the Hammers in January of this year.
The Mirror reported yesterday that Slaven Bilic has grown tired of the 29-year-old, and is ready to offload him this summer.
If West Ham do choose to sell the Scotland international, they will obviously have to replace him with an established winger, so rather than making things more complicated than they need to be, they should consider offering Snodgrass’ services in exchange for Eagles star Andros Townsend.

The former Tottenham winger has struggled for both fitness and form over the last couple of seasons, but the talent he has showcased on the whole throughout the course of his career is enough for Hammers fans to believe that he could do a job for their team.
The 25-year-old Englishman possesses pace in abundance, and is renowned for cutting inside from the right flank onto his favoured left foot.
He has an exceptional delivery in his armour – something that could be of real use with someone like Andy Carroll waiting in the penalty box.
Townsend made the move to Selhurst Park in July 2016, for a fee believed to be in the region of £13 million, but has failed to impress the Palace fans during his time at the club, much in the same way that Snodgrasss has disappointed at West Ham.
Both players still have a lot to offer, however, and a change of scenery under different management could be exactly what they need to help breathe fire back into their respective careers.
One particular stumbling block could be both teams’ respective valuations of their players, but if some kind of compromise could be reached, it might just be a deal that turns out to be hugely significant for all parties concerned.
