Marlon Harewood left West Ham United and Aston Villa supporters with differing memories, now the former striker has given them another.

Harewood played for both West Ham and Villa during his career scoring 56 goals in 170 games for the Hammers but enjoying a less prolific time in the Midlands with just seven in 40 for the Villa.
The powerful forward was a cult hero at West Ham for not only reaching the 50-goal milestone but scoring a stunning goal in the FA Cup semi-final win over Middlesbrough at Villa Park in 2007.
He left supporters of both West Ham and Aston Villa with differing memories of his time in the game after costing the latter around £5 million.

And now he has dug out another memory after taking to Instagram to reveal a piece of nostalgia he found during a clearout of his garage at home.
While searching around Harewood found his all-gold Nike boots which caused quite a stir when he wore them for the first time during a lean spell with West Ham… against none other than Aston Villa back in 2005.
It took a brave player to wear such outlandish boots at the time and could have invited ridicule.

But if anything it seemed to inspire Harewood who scored a hat-trick in a thumping 4-0 win over Villa at Upton Park.
Harewood posted a picture of the gold boots on Instagram saying: “Sorting out the garage found these bad boys #nikefootball #mercurial #oldschool#boots #football #goldboots.”
It was later claimed Harewood’s performance and goals in that game persuaded Martin O’Neill to sign the striker at the end of the season.
Amazing what you can find in the garage sometimes isn’t it…
