Should Newcastle, West Brom and West Ham consider Man City’s unwanted striker Wilfried Bony?

Speculation is increasing around where Wilfried Bony will go next, with his time at Manchester City seemingly coming to an end.

The Sun reports that Olympique Marseille are the latest to show interest in the Ivorian, joining fellow Ligue 1 side Lille and a number of clubs from China in the race for Bony’s signature.

After a poor 2016/17 season on loan at Stoke City, Premier League teams may not be that keen on the 28-year-old – who the report says is valued at around £14m – but here are three that should maybe take a closer look.

Newcastle United

After promotion from the Championship, the Chronicle reported that Rafa Benitez wanted to sign a proven goalscorer in the English top flight this summer.

That is yet to materialise, so should 34 Premier League goals in 100 appearances tempt Newcastle into considering the Ivory Coast international to lead their line?

West Bromwich Albion

Hal Robson-Kanu may have just signed a new contract and Jay Rodriguez has joined from Southampton, but with neither out-and-out strikers perhaps Bony could be the perfect addition?

The Baggies do have topscorer Salomon Rondon on the books of course, but with only eight league goals last term and just one after December 14, the South American at least needs competition.

West Ham United

Hammers co-owner David Gold told talkSPORT at the end of last month that the club wanted to sign two strikers with Premier League experience.

As yet not one has arrived at the London Stadium who fits that bill, so with injury concerns over both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho should West Ham be tempted into giving Bony one last shot in England?
