The West Ham United forward has been ruled out with a long-term injury.

West Ham ace Robert Snodgrass sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and opened up on some advice that he gave his teammate Andriy Yarmolenko, after the Ukrainian was ruled out for around six months with an Achilles injury.
The 29-year-old joined the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £17.5 million, and he has gone on to chalk up two goals in nine Premier League outings thus far.
Yarmolenko’s season was cut short during Saturday’s clash with Tottenham, however, after he was forced off with an Achilles injury, and he could be set to spend around six months on the sidelines – something that Snodgrass has experience of himself.
The Scotland international spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared what he told his West Ham teammate in the aftermath of being ruled out for such a prolonged period of time:

“Yarmo has got a good family and friends around him, he’ll have the support of his teammates and the fans so everybody is wishing him a speedy recovery and we’re all there for him. I spoke to Yarmo and told him I was out for 16 months and the biggest thing you need to do is not let it be any fault of your own if you don’t come back to the same level; let the injury be the problem, not you because you’ve not been professional coming back from an injury. It’s one of the toughest moments of your life so I just said to Yarmo, you’ll come back stronger because it’s the type of character he is – he’s a top lad.”
Snodgrass will ironically be Yarmolenko’s replacement, so in spite of the 31-year-old’s kind words, the Ukraine international’s injury has actually worked out in his favour.
And Pellegrini will be hoping that the former Leeds United and Hull City star can produce the goods for his team over the upcoming months.
