The West Ham United boss has performed admirably in his role in charge of the club.
West Ham ace Robert Snodgrass spoke to reporters yesterday about the quality of his manager Manuel Pellegrini, and suggested that the way in which he demands the best from each and every player is evidence of his class, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Chilean took over as Hammers boss in the summer, and initially struggled to get his ideas across to the players – something that resulted in them losing their first four Premier League games of the season.
West Ham have made an incredible recovery, however, and they now sit in ninth spot in the Premier League table, just two points adrift of sixth placed Manchester United.
Snodgrass himself has embodied everything that Pellegrini is all about.
The Scot has really impressed this season, chalking up four goals and seven assists in 19 appearances in all competitions thus far.
And the 31-year-old winger credited his manager’s influence for his improved form this season, when speaking to the club’s official website:
“I’m just playing where and how the manager wants me to play. He speaks to me a lot about every position and that’s what you want as a footballer. He tells me how I can be better in each position and he’s a perfectionist. He’s been at the top level for a reason and I think we’re starting to see his ethos in the way we’re playing. He does it with every player. Everyone. He wants to try and help everyone become better. He’s speaking with them all. It’s why the boss has been at the very top, because he talks with his players and he wants to get the best out of them.”
Next up for West Ham is a home game against Watford on Saturday, and a win for Pellegrini’s side could see them climb up to as high as sixth in the table.
And that would represent a fantastic start to life in east London for the Chilean.
