The West Ham United winger arrived in England with a big reputation.
West Ham ace Felipe Anderson spoke to reporters after his side’s impressive 4-2 win over Burnley, and shared what his teammates told him after Manuel Pellegrini demanded more of him, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio in the summer, for a club record fee of somewhere in the region of £42 million, and despite a slow start to life in England, he is beginning to show his quality, chalking up three goals and one assist in 11 Premier League outings thus far.
West Ham have made an indifferent start to their 2018/19 Premier League campaign, but have shown signs of improvement in recent weeks, and it is no coincidence that that has coincided with an upturn in the Brazilian’s form.
Anderson spoke to reporters after West Ham’s 4-2 win yesterday, and shared what his teammates told him after Pellegrini demanded more of him, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“The Premier League is really hard, really strong and everybody is really strong. I had to adapt and my teammates always told me they had faith in me regardless if I played well or badly and that has been really important for my adaptation and to be able to show my game.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Huddersfield on Saturday, and Anderson will be hoping to help his side rack up another vitally important three points.
