The West Ham United starlet has risen to prominence this season.

West Ham ace Declan Rice spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared the advice that he receives from his father before every game that he plays.
The 19-year-old has been quite simply outstanding for the Hammers this season, and he seems to have made the deep-lying midfield position his very own under Manuel Pellegrini.
The teenager recently signed a new long-term contract with West Ham – one that runs until the summer of 2024, and the club’s fans were understandably delighted with the news.
Rice spoke to the club’s official website about how he attempts to take everything in his stride, sharing the simple advice that he receives from his father:

“Before every game I get a text from my Dad. It says, ‘Start quick, start well, win your first header, your first tackle’. I see it like playing with my mates. I know it’s the Premier League, but if you think too much about things, you get caught up in the occasion.”
The fact that Rice has signed a long-term contract with West Ham hasn’t stopped rumours linking him with a switch away from he club, with the Sun reporting that Manchester City are preparing a £50 million bid for the starlet.
The Hammers must do everything within their power to keep hold of the defensive midfielder, however, if they truly want to make genuine progress as a football club.
