The West Ham United man has been absent from action for the last six games through suspension.
West Ham ace Arthur Masuaku sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and opened up on how difficult he has found the past couple of months, having been forced to sit out six games due to suspension.
The 24-year-old has been a revelation for the Hammers this season, having been played in a more advanced role since David Moyes’ appointment as manager way back in November last year.
He somewhat tainted his fine run of form, however, in January, when he earned himself a six-game suspension for spitting at an opponent during the east London outfit’s fourth round FA Cup defeat to Wigan Athletic.
The former Olympiacos man sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and admitted that the past couple of months have been particularly testing for him personally:
“It was a difficult time, of course, because I couldn’t help the team and with the results they we had, it was tough, but now I’m back and I hope I will help the team as much as I can. In the beginning, in the first week, I was very disappointed for myself, for the team and the staff and for the fans, then after that you have to move forward because it is life and everyone makes mistakes. I had my family behind me and nothing has changed. I am feeling positive.”
Next up for West Ham is their hugely important home game against Southampton on March 31st, and Masuaku’s return could not have come at a better time for the Hammers, with just two points separating them and Mark Hughes’ 18th placed Saints side.
