The West Ham United striker returned to action against Stoke City last night.

West Ham hitman Andy Carroll spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City last night, and admitted that he did not feel sharp at all during the eight or so minutes that he played, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Last night’s point could turn out to be a vitally important one for the Hammers, with seven points now separating them from the drop zone, and they have Carroll to thank for saving them against the Potters.
The 29-year-old has once again experienced a difficult campaign – one that has been hampered by a succession of injuries.

He has made just seven Premier League starts for West Ham this season, but when he has played, it has been obvious to see the impact that he is capable of having.
Carroll spoke to reporters after the game, and admitted that he did not feel physically ready when he took to the field against Stoke as an 86th minute substitute last night, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“I don’t know if it looked sharp, because I didn’t feel sharp! The ball came in and I like them on my left foot, so I just span and hit it and it went in. I’ve trained for five days in with the lads, having worked with the physio beforehand, so not too much.”
Next up for West Ham is a trip to Arsenal on Sunday, and Carroll will be hoping that his fitness levels have significantly improved in time for his side’s trip to the Emirates.
