West Ham ace Aaron Cresswell spoke exclusively to the club’s official website after his side’s hard-fought 3-1 win over Fulham on Friday night, and shared how happy he is to have Manuel Lanzini back and involved with the first-team.

The Argentine has been out for the entire season, after suffering an ACL injury during pre-season training last summer, but he made his return for the Hammers on Friday night, coming on as a 76th minute substitute against the Cottagers.

West Ham currently sit in ninth spot in the Premier League table, just four points adrift of seventh placed Fulham, and with Lanzini now back and available for selection, Manuel Pellegrini will be confident that his side can finish inside the Europa League places.

Cresswell shared how good it is to have the mercurial 26-year-old back in the fold, when speaking to reporters, and suggested that he was gutted after his teammate failed to score against Fulham, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“He’s obviously been out for a long time and for us it’s like a new signing coming in for us now,” said the left-back. “Everyone knows his quality and it’s great that he’s back. I was gutted as he had a couple of chances to score, but it wasn’t to be, but I’m sure he’ll only get better between now and the end of the season.”

Next up for West Ham is a tough trip to Manchester City tomorrow night, and Lanzini will be hoping to be given another chance to shine at the Etihad.
