West Ham United were too good for Southampton on Saturday.

Aaron Cresswell of England looks on after the FIFA 2018 World Cup Group F Qualifier between Lithuania and England at LFF Stadium on October 8, 2017 in Vilnius, Lithuania.

West Ham ace Aaron Cresswell spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 3-0 win over Southampton on Saturday, and shared how he was disappointed not to score at the end of the game, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Hammers were in desperate need of all three points against the Saints, and they did not disappoint, racing into a 3-0 lead inside the first-half.

The second-half was fairly comfortable for David Moyes’ side, and they ran out as comfortable 3-0 winners.

Cresswell spoke to reporters after the game, and shared his disappointment at not chalking up a goal for himself late on, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“Let’s not beat around the bush, the pressure was certainly on us on Saturday, but we performed straight from the off. The fans were behind us, we were all as one and the first half was excellent – the best we’ve been all season. Everyone played a part. We set our stall out, got that 3-0 lead, and then the second half was pretty comfortable. I was a little bit disappointed that my shot at the end didn’t go in! The ball was a bit in front of me, but some go in and some don’t.”

The east London outfit now sit in 14th spot in the Premier League table, five points clear of the drop zone, and amazingly, just four points adrift of the top 10.

If Moyes’ men show anything like they did against Mark Hughes’ side on Saturday, they have every chance of finishing inside the top 10, and what a turnaround that would represent for West Ham.
