Leeds United tried to sign Sam Field from West Bromwich Albion last January.

Sam Field has suggested to the Birmingham Mail that he could look to move out on loan from West Bromwich Albion, ahead of the new season.

Field has impressed at development squad level, and been handed a few first-team chances by Tony Pulis.

However, the youngster is yet to receive particularly regular action, which he is starting to crave.

And Field said: “I’ll take minutes here and there, I can’t complain, even playing Premier League football.

“Hopefully I can put my name in there and feel like I can stake a claim, but if not, we’ll see how it goes next season.

“We’ll see what pre-season holds and we’ll go from there.”

Field’s comments could offer hope to Leeds that a transfer would be possible, if they made a bid in the upcoming transfer window.

Leeds attempted to sign the 19-year-old back in January, but were unsuccessful in their pursuit (Birmingham Mail).

Field rejected Leeds, in order to pursue a first-team place at the Hawthorns, but his decision has arguably not been vindicated.

Field has made just eight appearances in all competitions for the Baggies this term, and he has only started on three occasions.

Whether Garry Monk remains interest in Field is not clear, but if Leeds did submit another bid – it seems that there would be a far greater chance that the midfielder would move to Elland Road this time around.
