West Brom have already been weakened following news that captain Darren Fletcher will join Stoke City.
West Bromwich Albion’s Nacer Chadli scores their first goal
West Bromwich Albion winger Nacer Chadli has played down reports that he might leave the club, by stating that as far as he’s concerned, he’s preparing for next season with the Baggies already, as said to DH, and reported by the Birmingham Mail.
The 27-year-old had a good season for Tony Pulis’ side since signing from Tottenham Hotspur last summer, making 32 appearances and scoring five goals, as well as claiming five assists – becoming an integral part of the team in the process.

While there hasn’t been any indication whatsoever that Chadli could depart the Hawthorns in the summer, the news that West Brom captain Darren Fletcher had signed a two-year-deal for Stoke City, as reported by BBC Sport, has understandably made Baggies fans anxious that more key players may leave.
However, Chadli has quashed any potential rumours that he could be following Fletcher out the exit door, by claiming that while his current mindset is very much focused on the international break, after that he’s just preparing for the new season with West Brom.

“After that [international duty], it’ll be holiday and pre-season with West Brom,” Chadli said to DH, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
“I’m going in with the mentality that I’ll be playing there next season.”

Next season, West Brom will be hoping to avoid the end of season slump that saw them miss out on breaking their top flight highest points tally of 49, despite being in an excellent position to do so.
The Baggies took two points from their final nine fixtures to finish on 45 points, which was enough to see them finish in 10th position – technically a top half finish.
