West Bromwich Albion signed Matt Phillips from Queens Park Rangers during the summer transfer window.

West Bromwich Albion winger Matt Phillips has admitted to the Birmingham Mail that he believes he has made a slow start at the Hawthorns.
Phillips joined West Brom from Queens Park Rangers during the summer transfer window, and he has already made eight appearances for the Baggies.
Phillips admits that it has taken time for him to find his feet with Albion, but he is pleased with the faith that Tony Pulis has shown in him.

“It was a bit of a slow start for the first couple of games but it gave me something to build on,” the winger said.
“I’m in the manager’s starting XI which is great for me having been signed in the summer.
“I’m enjoying it, I’ve grown into it. I’m obviously looking to get my best form going and build on that.
“I love crossing, I love beating my man, but also I need to add more goals to my game.
“The manager has said that he believes in me, believes I can do that, so hopefully that will come.”

Phillips is yet to open his scoring account for West Brom, but he has caused problems in his last two outings.
Phillips’ form dipped towards the end of his time at QPR, so it is perhaps not too much of a surprise that it has taken him a while to start showing his optimum form at West Brom.
The 25-year-old wide man looks likely to start for West Brom in their first match after the international break, which comes against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.
If the Baggies can cause an upset against Mauricio Pochettino’s unbeaten Spurs side, they could move up to eighth place in the Premier League table.
