West Bromwich Albion have reportedly decided to ask for £12 million for goalkeeper Ben Foster this summer.

West Bromwich Albion are said to be demanding around £12 million for Ben Foster this summer, according to the Daily Mirror, and that seems overly ambitious.

Foster may well have proven his quality at Premier League level over a number of years, but getting such a vast figure for a 35-year-old is highly unlikely.

West Ham United have signed Lukasz Fabianski, who is two years youngster than Foster, for £7 million this summer.

For West Brom to get almost double the price of Fabianski to Foster seems at best ambitious and at worst totally unrealistic.

Albion are certainly entitled to ask for more than the £1 million offer that Watford submitted for the goalkeeper.

However, getting 12 times that amount is far too high a price – and Foster is almost certain to stay at the Hawthorns, if if West Brom refuse to budge on that asking price.

Foster simply has no re-sale value whatsoever, and it would be a major shock if any side spent £12 million to bring in the veteran stopper this summer.
