Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are both said to be in competition for the Chelsea youngster’s signature.

According to The Birmingham Mail, West Bromwich Albion have joined the race for Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Hudson-Odoi was the star of Chelsea’s pre-season, but has barely featured this season.

And West Brom have now entered the race to sign the youngster, who could be available in January.

The Birmingham Mail have previously reported that Aston Villa are keen to snap up Hudson-Odoi.

And if West Brom do land the trickster ahead of their Midlands rivals, then it could be a dent to Dean Smith’s side’s promotion hopes.

Villa are already playing catch up in the Championship, after a slow start, and they will have to put together some strong form over the second half of the campaign to put pressure on the top six.

Hudson-Odoi’s arrival would certainly have helped Villa in an attacking sense, as the prospect looks to be one of the brightest talents in England.

Hudson-Odoi would have had the potential to light up Villa Park, if he joined, but with West Brom now interested that transfer is in doubt.

West Brom already have one of the most dangerous attacks in the Championship, and with Hudson-Odoi also added they would have the firepower to blast aside most of their rivals in the second tier.
