Newcastle United have been trying to sign Benfica’s Andreas Samaris, but the deal has fallen into doubt… West Bromwich Albion should now swoop.
Benfica want £17.5 million for Samaris, and Newcastle aren’t willing to match that asking price.
The Magpies had made Samaris one of their top targets, but the deal is now in doubt.

And West Bromwich Albion should swoop to capitalise, and bring in Samaris themselves.
West Brom are thought to be looking to strengthen in central midfield this summer, and Tony Pulis’ has previously been linked with some ambitious targets.
And Samaris could fit in well with Pulis’ side, given his qualities.
A tough tackler and a disciplined defender, Samaris would add further steel to the Baggies midfield ranks.
And with a deal seemingly now possible, West Brom should consider rivalling Newcastle for the Greek international.
