West Bromwich Albion are said to be pondering over whether to allow James Morrison to leave on a free.

Morrison’s deal at the Hawthorns expires soon, and Middlesbrough are eager to snap him up.
But West Brom should not allow Morrison to depart, as he could be a key player for them next term.

The Scottish midfielder would be a stand out talent at Championship level, and West Brom should be doing everything in their power to keep hold of him.
If the Baggies let him go, they will only be strengthening one of their main promotion rivals in the shape of Middlesbrough.

And that should encourage Albion to give Morrison a new contract to keep him at the Hawthorns.
Although the 31-year-old has struggled for fitness recently, he remains an exceptionally gifted midfielder.
And West Brom should be planning to make Morrison one of their key players next season, rather than considering letting him go.
