West Bromwich Albion are said to be considering making a move for Aston Villa’s Alan Hutton in the summer.

West Brom are looking to put together a squad that can get them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and there is no questions over Hutton’s quality at Championship level.
But Hutton is now 33-years-old, and he has only played a rotational role at Villa this season.

Hutton may be available on a free transfer, but West Brom fans would have a hard time getting excited over the addition of the Scottish international.
The Baggies surely need to start showing some creativity, to increase the optimism around the Hawthorns.

By signing Hutton, West Brom may have a solid option for a season, but he would only be a short-term fix.
And the Baggies would be far better off looking for a younger alternative, who they could develop over the years ahead, rather than going for Hutton in the summer.
