West Bromwich Albion are reportedly interested in signing Lucas Alario from River Plate in the summer transfer window.

River Plate's Lucas Alario in action

West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Lucas Alario from River Plate in the summer transfer window, according to Ole.

It has been reported that West Brom have made an approach for the 24-year-old striker, who has scored 11 goals in 24 appearances for the Argentine giants.

Alario has a release clause of £15.5 million, according to the report, which also claims interest in the Argentina international from Tottenham Hotspur, Lazio and Paris Saint-Germain.

Good signing?

While many will be sceptical about Alario given that he is 24 years of age and has not played in Europe yet, one must remember that one would not know how well he does in the Premier League until he plays in the division.

True, there would be an element of risk in the signing of the Argentine striker, but isn’t there always a risk bringing in any new player?

West Brom are ninth in the Premier League table at the moment with 45 points from 37 matches.
