West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Kristoffer Ajer from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.

Italian giants AC Milan are interested in the central defender as well, according to the report, which has added that the 22-year-old Norway international is open to leaving the Glasgow giants.

Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League in midweek, and there is a chance that the Glasgow giants could lose some of their best players despite the club aiming to make it 10 Scottish Premiership titles in a row this season.

Good signing for West Bromwich Albion?

Ajer, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, is one of the best players at Celtic and is a regular in manager Neil Lennon’s side.

According to WhoScored, the Norwegian has made two starts and one substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for the Hoops so far this season.

West Brom will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, and the 22-year-old will make Slaven Bilic’s side stronger.

Celtic central defender Christopher Jullien raved about Ajer to The Scottish Sun in July, and said: “Kris is a great defender, and ultimately, I think he can do everything. He runs a lot, he defends, he can take the ball into the midfield and play.
