The Baggies were comfortable against the Championship’s bottom side for most of the game but a late mistake at the back made for a nervy finish.

West Bromwich Albion have followed up their superb 4-1 win over Leeds United before the international break with a 2-1 triumph at struggling Ipswich Town on Friday night.
The Baggies have been beset by inconsistency for much of this season and have struggled to keep clean sheets but, by winning at Portman Road, they have climbed to second in the Championship table.
Jay Rodriguez opened the scoring for West Brom on 26 minutes after Kieran Gibbs nodded Matt Phillips’ cross to the back post and into the striker’s path for a close-range finish against the league’s basement side.
The visitors wasted several big chances throughout the game but were able to double their advantage with 13 minutes to go when Harvey Barnes cut inside and fired low into the corner of the Ipswich net.
Paul Lambert’s side threatened on occasions and pulled a goal back when Tosin Adarabioyo’s error in his own box was pounced upon by Blues substitute Kayden Jackson with five minutes remaining.
The away fans were given an anxious final few minutes as Jack Lankester clipped the post from a free kick but their side hung on until full time to climb above Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Sheffield United into second, two points behind leaders Norwich City.

Happy as they may have been following the three points and ascent to second place, the West Brom faithful were certainly made to sweat en route to victory despite being comfortable for most of the game.
Indeed, some fans took to Twitter to express their relief and scold the team for the ordeal:
