West Bromwich Albion were held to a 1-1 draw away to Middlesbrough last night after letting an early lead slip.

The Baggies’ goal was scored by James Morrison, with star striker Salomon Rondon withdrawn after 64 minutes.

West Brom had rejected a blockbuster £32 million offer from Chinese club Tianjin Quanjian for Rondon in the lead up to the transfer deadline, The Mail report, with the striker key to their hopes of clinching a top 10 place.

Rondon’s performance left plenty to be desired, with the striker missing an easy chance from close range which rebounded back off the post.

Unfortunately for the Baggies they lack many alternatives for Rondon when he is not on his game, and substitute Hal Robson-Kanu could not find the scoresheet either.

Rondon touched the ball just 26 times before his substitution, with neither of his two attempts finding the target, and no chances created.
