The West Brom summer signing and boyhood Baggies fan took to The Hawthorns pitch for the first time last weekend.
A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to praise Romaine Sawyers’ tweet following his first competitive game in a Baggies shirt at The Hawthorns.
At the end of July, the 27-year-old midfielder returned to the club where he came through the ranks, signing a three-year contract after being bought from Brentford – where he was captain – for an undisclosed fee reported to be £2.9 million (Express & Star).
A boyhood Baggie, Sawyers stated that playing for the club is “something I have always wanted” and added “I can’t even imagine what the feeling of walking out at The Hawthorns as a player for West Bromwich Albion will be like”. (official WBA website).
Last Saturday, his wish finally came true as he took to the field at B71 against Millwall and earlier this week he took to social media expressing his delight at being able to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jason Koumas, Zoltan Gera, Jonathan Greening and Chris Brunt.

Prior to his return to West Brom, Sawyers joined Brentford from Walsall in 2016 and made 123 appearances for the Bees, scoring eight goals, and was also linked with a switch to Celtic, according to Sky Sports News.
