Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion will be preparing for the playoffs next month.

West Brom fans on Twitter have warned Aston Villa that they are in for a tough challenge with the two teams more than likely to face each other in the playoff semi-final next month.
On Sunday afternoon, Dean Smith’s side recorded a 1-1 draw at third-placed Leeds to all but consolidate fifth spot in the Championship table.
As things stand, Villa will meet their Midland rivals West Brom in the semi-final, with Marcelo Bielsa’s side Leeds taking on either Derby County or defensively sound Boro.
However, there still could be the chance that Albion finish in third place with Jimmy Shan’s side three points behind the Yorkshire club. They also have a better goal difference.
On the last day of the season, Albion travel to Pride Park to take on sixth-placed Derby County, whilst Leeds travel to already-relegated Ipswich Town.
A point will be enough for Bielsa’s side to secure third spot as Villa and Albion will be providing a mouthwatering showdown and goals galore if they clash in a few weeks time.
West Brom fans react on Twitter to Villa result and potential playoff meeting:
Both Villa and Albion are two of the highest scorers in the second tier of English football and both teams will be expected to express themselves in the final third.
The likes of Dwight Gayle, Jack Grealish, Tammy Abraham and Jay Rodriquez will be looking to make their mark and push their team into the final at Wembley.
