The Leicester City assistant’s name is being mentioned in connection with a return to West Bromwich Albion.

A number of names are being mentioned in contention with the West Bromwich Albion manager’s position – including that of former Baggie and current Leicester City assistant boss Michael Appleton.
Both the Telegraph and Mirror list Appleton as a potential candidate should Alan Pardew depart the Hawthorns.

The 42-year-old played for West Brom for two seasons at the end of career cut short by injury, and went on to coach the Albion in various roles.
After leaving the club in 2011, Appleton went on to manage Portsmouth, Blackpool, Blackburn Rovers and Oxford United, before quitting to become assistant to another former West Brom player and coach, Craig Shakespeare, at Leicester.

Though he remained at the King Power Stadium despite Shakespeare’s sacking last September, it is possible the chance to manage the Baggies could tempt Appleton across the Midlands.
But how would the fans feel about a return for the Mancunian? Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter…
