It’s looking more obvious by the week that West Bromwich Albion are heading for the Championship.

On Saturday, Alan Pardew’s side lost 2-1 at home to fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town in a defeat that leaves Albion rooted to the foot of the table, seven points adrift of safety.

The Baggies have now lost four Premier League games in a row – and have won just one of Pardew’s 14 games in charge since replacing Tony Pulis at The Hawthorns in November.

West Brom fans are understandably furious at what was another dreadful performance on Saturday, but the supporters look to have found two players deserving of respect.

Despite not scoring, Salomon Rondon posted an energetic performance which shows that he does care, while Chris Brunt was arguably man of the match, in spite of the fact he didn’t come on until the 57th minute.

The majority of West Brom players headed straight for the tunnel at half time, but Brunt and Rondon were among the two who stayed on the pitch to applaud the home fans in a gesture which has earned the respect of the supporters.
