West Bromwich Albion are due to travel to face Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough tomorrow.
Mears has had a long career in English football, but it has been a while since he has visited Hillsborough.
However, the West Brom defender remembers from previous occasions that Hillsborough has been a hostile place to visit.
And the full-back is expecting no different when he visits with the Baggies tomorrow.
He said: “I’ve not played there for a long time but I can remember the fans being very loud.
“The form they’re showing this season mean they’ll be a difficult opponent. Anyone can beat anyone in this league so we’ve got to make sure we’re doing the right things.”
West Brom travel to Hillsborough looking to continue their impressive start to the campaign.
Darren Moore’s side have been a massive offensive threat over the season so far, with Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez both scoring regularly.
Mears actually made his first start for West Brom at the weekend, in a 3-1 victory over Preston North End.
West Brom currently lead the way in the Championship, and could put four points between themselves and their nearest rivals, should they beat Wednesday tomorrow evening.
