West Bromwich Albion are set to strike a blow to Nottingham Forest by landing Bakary Sako.

The Express and Star claim that West Brom are on the verge of bringing in Sako, which is sure to frustrate some at Forest.

The Reds have been chasing the winger, but failed to get a deal over the line, and missing it should be treated as a disappointment.

Forest have strengthened well over the summer and in recent weeks, but Sako really could have been the final piece of the jigsaw for them.

The powerful winger would have made their attack much more threatening and he would have given Aitor Karanka a different option.

Sako could have offered Forest a new type of outlet down the wing, and on a free transfer, he could have been one of the bargain buys of the year in the Championship.

But Karanka’s side are now set to have to watch him at the Hawthorns, where Sako should make West Brom’s already brilliant attack even more dangerous.
