West Bromwich Albion want Carlos Corberan and Guillem Balague claims a move to The Hawthorns is now ‘almost done’.
The Baggies endured a dismal start to the Championship season with just one win in 13 games.
That’s just not good enough for a club of West Brom’s standing and Steve Bruce paid the price with his job.
Bruce was sacked over two weeks ago now and West Brom are yet to secure a replacement.

West Bromwich Albion want Carlos Corberan
It looks like West Brom have though settled on their top target for the job.
TalkSPORT reported on Sunday that Corberan was on the verge of becoming West Brom boss.
Yet Monday passed without West Brom confirming Corberan’s appointment, leaving fans worried about the deal collapsing.
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has taken to Twitter to claim that the deal for Corberan is ‘almost done’.
Balague praised West Brom for ‘such a good move’ by moving in to make Corberan their new boss, praising his detail-oriented style as a coach.
Balague added that Corberan thinks West Brom are a ‘massive club’ and would never think he is bigger.
Maybe today will be the day then for West Brom with fans waiting patiently for Corberan to be appointed.
The 39-year-old worked minor miracles last season by taking Huddersfield Town to the Championship playoff final.
Corberan tasted defeat to Nottingham Forest that day and then ended up becoming Olympiacos boss – ironically owned by Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
The Spaniard was sacked by Olympiacos after just two wins in 11 games and he now looks set for a return to Championship management.
Former Leeds United coach Corberan still has a strong reputation as a coach and will be looking to get back on track with West Brom should the move finally go through.
