West Bromwich Albion were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in their last match.

Alan Pardew is seen in the stands prior to the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park on March 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Alan Pardew has told the Telegraph that West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez did not threaten enough against Swansea City in his side’s latest match.

West Brom were beaten 1-0 by Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, as their struggles for goals continued.

The Baggies were unable to break Swansea down, and Pardew felt that Rodriguez was playing far too deep to influence the contest.

He said: “Jay’s best work was not near enough to the goal.

“He did some good things and Salomon worked as hard as he always does, but we just need to create more moments and to give them ideas of how to lift their game.”

Rodriguez was brought to West Brom last summer from Southampton, and there was an expectation that he could lead the line effectively this term.

However, the 28-year-old has just two Premier League goals to his name, in his first 15 Baggies appearances.
