West Bromwich Albion are reportedly willing to sell Salomon Rondon, so perhaps they should now move for Loic Remy.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mirror, West Brom are open to the idea of selling Salomon Rondon after his inconsistent spell at the Hawthorns – despite the fact that the Venezuelan is one of just three senior forwards within the squad.
If Rondon does move on, it is surely essential that Tony Pulis signs another striker. But luckily for the Baggies, a goalscorer Pulis held talks with back in 2010 appears to have just become available.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
Sky Sports reported that Pulis – who, at the time, was in charge of Stoke City – had tried to bring Loic Remy to the club before he ultimately joined Marseille.
Since then, Remy has gone on to pick up plenty of experience in the Premier League, playing for the likes of Queens Park Rangers, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Crystal Palace in the top flight.
Though his form has not always been something to shout about, it could certainly be argued that Sky Sports’ suggestion last week that he is likely to leave the Blues this summer should tempt Pulis to reignite his interest – this time trying to bring him to West Brom.
If Rondon leaves and Pulis manages to replace him with Remy, the Baggies would be landing a player who has scored goals at virtually every English club he has played for, despite the fact that he has rarely been given the chance to enjoy a run of games in a side, so perhaps he could be the ideal replacement for the Baggies’ current number nine if he leaves the Hawthorns in the coming weeks.
