West Bromwich Albion’s draw with Everton was overshadowed by a horrific injury suffered by James McCarthy.
Salomon Rondon has sent a message to Everton’s James McCarthy
West Brom forward Salomon Rondon has taken to Twitter to suggest that he is absolutely devastated after his collision with James McCarthy saw the Everton ace suffer a horrific leg break during the draw between the two sides at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Goals from Jay Rodriguez and Oumar Niasse saw the points shared on Merseyside, but in reality, the game was completely overshadowed by the devastating injury that McCarthy suffered near the start of the second-half.

Rondon was looking to have a shot on goal when McCarthy planted his standing foot in an attempt to win the ball. However, the Venezuelan was already in the process of attempting the shot and ended up kicking the Republic of Ireland international in the back of the leg.
It was Rondon who made the severity of the injury clear to the referee. The Baggies striker was visibly upset by the incident and pleaded with the official to stop the game when he had not realised just how badly McCarthy was hurt.

And Rondon had to be consoled by his teammates as he broke down in tears as McCarthy was stretchered off the field. And the striker took little time after the game to take to social media and express his sadness for McCarthy.
Unsurprisingly, a number of fans wanted to respond to Rondon’s message to his opponent, and many of the Everton fans showed their class with their replies to the West Brom striker.
Not only did the Toffees supporters praise Rondon’s actions, both on and off the pitch, after the collision but they also praised his performance in the 1-1 draw.
