Burnley should seriously consider a move for the West Bromwich Albion winger.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche has worked wonders during his time in charge at Turf Moor, and he will once again have to be shrewd in the transfer market this summer, if he is to adequately improve his squad.
One particular area where Dyche will want to strengthen is his wide attacking options, with more competition for the likes of Aaron Lennon required.
With this in mind, the Clarets should consider a move for West Brom ace James McClean, who recently hinted that he will leave the Hawthorns in the summer, during an interview with the Express & Star.
The Republic of Ireland international joined the Baggies from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £1.5 million, and he has since gone on to make 110 appearances for the Black Country outfit.
McClean is most comfortable when operating from the left flank, but if push comes to shove, he can also play through the middle as a central striker, and that kind of versatility could prove to be vital to Burnley next season.
The 29-year-old’s tenacious playing style would be a perfect fit for Dyche’s hard-working team, and the Irishman comes with the added bonus of possessing real quality in the final third.
If the Clarets boss does in fact manage to bring McClean to Turf Moor this summer, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Burnley.
