West Bromwich Albion have had both Russell Martin and Wes Hoolahan training with them recently.

The pair are both free agents at the moment having been released by Norwich at the end of last season. And they have both been training with the Baggies in recent times.
And Moore suggested that the club are now hoping to reach a decision on whether they plan to sign the pair up imminently after having a good look at both men.
“We’ve had them in because the international break allows us to have them in,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star. “We’ve had a good look at them, but the decision on both players has not been made yet.

“We take our time as a football club, and they’ve been reviewed carefully, but we’ll make a decision with them over the next seven days. There’s no rush.”
Another report from the Express and Star has suggested that Moore is particularly keen on Hoolahan, so perhaps it would be little surprise if he was the more likely of the two men to be offered a deal.

Both players may be reaching or are in the twilight of their careers, but they could certainly contribute something to a West Brom squad that has made an encouraging start to the new season.
Martin will strengthen their options at the back while also providing plenty of leadership that will help some of the younger players in the Baggies squad, while Hoolahan has shown that he still has that touch of class that has made him one of the division’s most impressive players over the last decade.
