West Brom’s talented youngsters recorded an impressive win over their Aston Villa rivals.
The Baggies hit five as they notched a 5-2 win, to move up to fifth in the table.
Villa are in ninth position out of 12 teams as a result of the defeat, with the joint worst defensive record in the league after five games.
Young West Brom stars Jack Fitzwater and Rakeem Harper sent messages on Twitter expressing their delight at the manner of the victory, while underlining the importance they placed in the fixture.
Villa’s team boasted senior striker Libor Kozak, who had been the second highest scorer in the under-23 division heading into the match.
Summer signing Aaron Tshibola also featured, and was sent off late on after picking up a second booking.
West Brom’s side was bolstered by senior midfielder Chris Brunt, who played for an hour after he stepped up his comeback from an injury which forced him to miss Euro 2016.
