Rangers rejected an offer for the Colombian striker on Wednesday.

The paper say that the Baggies had identified the Colombian as one of their top transfer targets and were keen to get a deal done for the player prior to today’s 5pm English transfer deadline.
Perhaps crucially though, the report suggests that the Baggies’ interest in the player is not over, with West Brom boss Slaven Bilic not ‘closing the door’ on the deal until he he has signed alternative targets.
Bilic is tasked with finding a player who can complement summer signing Kenneth Zohore before the close of play.
Rangers fans will be hoping this afternoon that the English club secure their other targets so that there is no return for last season’s 30-goal man.
West Brom have been linked with both Charlie Austin (BBC) and Nahki Wells (Sky Sports, 8/8; 9:12am) this morning, so the wheels are in motion.
The English deadline day is notoriously unpredictable though so whether either of those deals goes through remains to be seen.

Retaining Morelos must be seen as a key priority for Rangers this season. If the striker left it would be a serious blow to their ambitions of winning the league title and other silverware in Scotland.
Jermain Defoe is available, but they’ll need more depth and competition in the position to succeed.
Can they resist all attempts to sign him this summer?
