Arsenal already have plenty of wide options at their disposal, but are now being linked with another wide man.

Gabriel Martinelli and Reiss Nelson can barely get a kick, whilst Willian, Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang have all featured out wide.

It”s a real embarrassment of riches on the flanks, but The Times [print edition, page 66 on March 25] now claim that the Gunners want to sign Mislav Orsic from Dinamo Zagreb.

If his name rings a bell, it’s because he was Tottenham’s nemesis in the Europa League earlier this month, dumping Spurs out of the competition.

The Croatian winger bagged a stunning hat-trick to complete a Dinamo comeback, claiming a 3-0 win to overturn Tottenham’s 2-0 first-leg lead.

Orsic has now hit 19 goals in 36 games this season as well as picking up eight assists, but he is a surprise Arsenal target given that he turns 29 in December; there is limited resale value in signing the winger.

Still, if Orsic does make the move to North London this summer, one club would be kicking themselves is West Bromwich Albion.

Slaven Bilic was desperate to sign his compatriot, but a move was scrapped last season and then a bid of £8.5million failed last summer.

Bilic just couldn’t get a deal done, and the Baggies had to watch on as Orsic demolished Tottenham in a stunning performance.

Then seeing him join Arsenal? That would be a bitter pill to swallow, with Bilic no doubt feeling that he was right all along, and that West Brom should have pushed the boat out to sign Orsic after all.
